97 years and counting...

It was 97 years ago...twenty-two women had to go upon a mission to make the world a bit greater and on January 13, 1913, Delta Sigma Theta was founded. Committed to public service and sisterhood, Delta Sigma Theta has been a staple in African American communities since its inception. Today i salute our illustrious founders for their vision and the sorors all over the world for their dedication. Happy Founder's Day Sorors!!!

RESOLVE....

hello everyone and thanks for checking out our blog today...

this weekend, while in the mist of great drinks, funny old men reffering to themselves as "Killer" and "JuJu", stripper poles and nachos, Tam and i resolved to make some changes in our lives....Tam decided that she, "Just want[ed] to wear cute clothes, drink good liquor and have fun with my friends and my sisters." That's not a bad resolution to live by. Fun times with family and friends is always a plus and when liquor is involed who cannot help but have fun. I on the other hand resolve to be in a commited relationship by the close of the year. That's only if what God allows.

I've been single for 5 years(since the birth of my son) and its time for a change. But i wont force it. If it happens I wont stop it, if it doesnt i wont force it.

Watching this show last night i had an epiphany of sorts...It was awsome in the sense that i could relate to everything that Pep and her friends are experiencing. Called the "Black Sex in the City", Pep and her friends explore dating, sex, children, and almost every issue important to women once a week over brunch. Pep, like myself hasnt been in a relationship for 4 years and is open and ready for the prospect of love to find her. I will be tuned in to this show weekly to see how the girls' love lives unfold...Hopefully if well mine will immulate it.

Along with fashion and family another resolution that Tam and I both share is the want and need to have awesome living spaces...So here are random photos that inspire us to make our homes the best they can be..

Living for the Weekend

Thank GOD its FRIDAY...Its been a long week...Weekends mean fun times, good food, and even better drinks...Here's a typical night for Crys and Tam....

WHAT TO WEAR???

Assembling wardrobe is half the battle for us...We've spent many a nights toiling over what to put on. Which like the picture above(everythingstyle.com)often involves one or two of the same pieces..Check out how they styled this floral skirt.....

WHAT TO DO???
The Houston night life is limited for squares like us. We tend to gravitate twoard spots that arent heavily populated and if they are we can still enjoy ourselves...Here are some of our favorites...

Great Food...Nice Atmosphere...SAKE!!!!

Ra Sushi is a staple in our night out. The rolls are just enough to get you full enough to drink...Gotta love that!

Sure it may look like  your typical, seedy bar, but inside,The Davenport is a load of goodness....By far the best drinks in Houston. I favor the Manhattan, but Tam insists its too strong and prefers the Apple Martini. Also if you like vodka...Try this....

Hands down,by far the best vodka around. Cranberry and Tito's. You WONT be disappointed.

So after all the drinking and eating we more than likely end up downtown(unfortunately) observing the Houston fashion fortunate or victims. You take your pick....

Regardless of how the night transpires we tend to look somwhat like this at the end...

SMOKING CIGARETTES....and you already know how we feel about that...

Bad for your health, but GOOD for your BUZZ...

Smoking Cigs...

Okay, Okay, Okay....We know smoking cigarettes is bad for you health and we almost always heed the surgeon general's warnings..but in this instance we have to disobey. Where can we find these cigarettes. BPE indulges in a good cig from time to time. Nothing sets off a great Manhattan than a good cigarette, but these vanilla cigarettes would take our experience to a WHOLE other level. Pink nails, with the cigarettes to match....who can ask for anything more?? All we know is they're from Austria and vanilla flavored. We found a French export call Pink Elephant, but have no idea  how to find either. HELP PLEASE... BPE will forever be indebted to  you...Hey we'll even share one..Well....MAYBE!!!LOL...

Memories made in the Coldest Winter

Winter???Snow???Really??? WTF??? Being native Houstonians, this winter has really thrown BPE for a loop! The weatherman has reported heinous weather conditons and possible snow/sleet...AGAIN...It was just earlier in December that we got our annual snowfall. That's the second in the past two years...I cant take it...Whatever happend to shorts for Christmas, short sleeves for the new spring semester...

Should the groundhog see his shadow for a shorter winter??? Whichever one...WE NEED RELIEF!!!
